Tastes Just Like Ranch but It Is Oil-Free, Dairy-Free, Gluten-Free, and Vegan
Though this dressing is a stand-in for ranch, it tastes just like the dairy-based original dressing. Creamy tahini made from sesame seeds are used, along with a touch of unsweetened, oil-free almond milk (you can also make your own), and some healthy herbs and spices. This dressing is simple, flavorful, and offers a bite that will likely make it a favorite in no time!
Tahini is a paste, like peanut butter, made from sesame seeds, used often in Middle Eastern cuisine. There are many other uses for it than just the traditional dishes. It is an amazing condiment to use in your cooking. An expanded article on tahini uses and other recipe variations and uses can be found here.
Because most commercial brands of tahini add oils to their mix, I suggest taking the extra step of making your own. It is also MUCH cheaper and you can make just the amount you need. We have included the recipe below and it takes all of 5-10 minutes to whir the tahini paste together and makes for a wonderful, fresh, buttery paste. Hulled sesame seeds create the greatest creamy tahini. Sesame seeds with the hull will create a thicker consistency.
This dressing will keep you full and balance the nervous system thanks to the calcium and iron in the tahini and the herbs. It will also help your body absorb the nutrients from the vegetables and greens in your salad due to the healthy fats in tahini. Herbs may be purchased or home-dried. See specific links below in the ingredient list. Your dehydrated seasonings give this salad dressing premiere taste and convenience.
