Popcorn Gifts

Part 2: The REAL Stars of Movie Night—Popcorn Seasoning Blends

Or perhaps try these seasoning blends on your favorite dehydrated veggie chips or dry nuts or even—my personal favorite—roasted chickpeas! Allow these seasoning combos to spark your own creativity or use the 9 recipes here:

  1. BBQ Popcorn Seasoning,

Instead of eating popcorn straight from the bowl, how about a trail mix made with popcorn, dehydrated fruit, and dehydrated or roasted nuts—maybe even dusted with white chocolate powder or fruit or vegetable powder? Oh, the possibilities are endless!

Gifts from the Sea—Flavored Salt Blends

Part 3: Gifts from the Sea—Flavored Salt Blends

For those on your gift list who are not on a salt-restricted diet, salt blends add a depth of flavor with very few ingredients needed to carry out the goal. Seasoned salt is often the standard on foods such as chicken, chips, and deep-fried seafood, or potatoes. But it also is used for many other dishes as well as the finishing salt that graces your table. Flavored salts have the potential to give a subtle change to your dish or a dynamic transformation; it’s up to you! Try your hand at these flavorful salt seasoning blends with our 8 recipes here:

  1. Bacon Salt,
  2. Celery Salt,
  3. Chile-Lime Salt,
  4. Citrus Herb Salt,
  5. Cocoa-Coffee Salt,
  6. Porcini-Parmesan Salt,
  7. Smoked Paprika and Ancho Salt, and
  8. “Vegan” Salt

with Free Labels you can download and print.

Part 7: FREE Printable Labels for DIY Holiday Gift Giving from the Kitchen

In Part 7 we have a round-up of all the labels created for the first 6 parts of this series. If you want to make labels of your own hopefully these will be a good foundation for getting those creative juices flowing. This is my creative outlet that I have fun with when the family is sitting down and enjoying the nightly TV watching. Instead of knitting, I create labels!

I have broken each part of the series down into sections, giving examples of the containers I use for my homemade gifts and providing you with some tips to make your creations easier to make. Choose a theme and make baskets or just use these ideas for stocking-stuffers.

8 Flavored International Cafe Instant Coffee Blends

Part 8: 8 Flavored International Café Instant Coffee Blends

Part 8 was in answer to a request by one of my group members. She needed a quick answer for a “coffee bar” basket she wanted to make for a special friend.

Making your own instant flavored coffee mixes is quick and easy and far less expensive than purchasing brand name mixtures. These recipes are all designed with the least amount of sugar/sweetener. Unless the flavor itself depends on the sugar, there is just enough to give these blends a natural creamy taste. Those who drink sugar in their flavored coffees may add more to their mix. You can make these hot or iced—whichever way you choose. Here are 8 recipes for that special barista friend of yours:

  1. Amaretto Mocha (Chocolate-Almond) Instant Coffee Blend
  2. Café Bavarian Mint Instant Coffee Blend
  3. Café Orange Cappuccino Instant Coffee Blend
  4. Café Vanilla Latte Instant Coffee Blend
  5. Caramel Mocha Instant Coffee Blend
  6. Hazelnut Café Instant Coffee Blend
  7. Pumpkin-Spice Latte Instant Coffee Blend
  8. Swiss Mocha Instant Coffee Blend
